| Sherpa Integrated Learning
develops and provides integrated learning programmes.
The Sherpa name is derived from a Nepalese clan
renowned for their skill and courage in guiding climbers in the Himalayan
mountains. It has been chosen to emphasise the supportive and team-working
ethic that underlies the organisation.
Beginnings
The vision for Sherpa emerged from a
day conference of HRD professionals in March 2000 organised by Sherpa’s
principals. It is to deliver the highest quality learning programmes which
integrate (some say ‘blend’) e-learning with other forms of learning
delivery, and which are produced and run by qualified trainers. At that time,
few, if any, training providers were offering so called ‘blended’
solutions. Furthermore, there was no accredited training available for
e-learning developers outside of a master’s degree.
Learning and Learning Content Management
With our technical partners, we have devised a Learning
Content Management System (LCMS) incorporating a Learning Management System (LMS)
based on the ’webChameleon’ software engine.
‘webChameleon’
enables us to:
- upload course material quickly and easily
- adapt course material to meet individual
needs
- build courses by selecting existing modules
and learning objects
- and brand sites for individual customers.
webChameleon also
offers ‘parallel file access’. This enables you to run on-line instruction
manuals with reciprocal links to and from e-learning.
The Future
We aim to provide our customers with
the very best quality integrated learning material and development services,
and the very best value for money. Top quality is achieved by:
- using only properly qualified and
appropriately trained HRD professionals,
- having a thorough design methodology
- and maintaining high quality standards
through rigorous validation techniques.
Value for money is offered by keeping our costs
low and through our unique Development
Partnership Scheme This scheme enables you to share the cost of
development with others, reducing your costs by as much as 80 per cent!
